Chat with Agents

An agent combines a model, a prompt, skills and tools. You set it up once and reuse it in chats and tasks, so you don't have to configure the same things every time. This page shows the three ways to start a chat with an agent.

ConsoleX comes with preset agents, and you can create your own.

Start from the Agents page​

  1. Click Agents in the left rail.
  2. Pick a tab: Pinned, Preset, Custom or Shared with me. The preset agents are Draft Editor, Brief Writer, Repurpose Editor, Client Report Analyst, Researcher, Image Creator, Voice Master and Domain Lookup Assistant.
  3. Click Chat now (the chat icon at the bottom right of the card).

The chat opens with the agent's name, its one-line intro and its conversation starters. Click a starter to send it, or type your own message. The composer shows the agent's name next to the model (for example Draft Editor · Auto), and the Tools and Skills counts show what the agent brings with it.

Mention an agent with @​

In the composer of any chat, type @. A list of agents opens, with your custom agents and the preset ones, and a Search agent box. Type a few letters to filter the list, then choose the agent you want to work with.

Pin agents to the chat sidebar​

Agents you use often can sit in the chat sidebar:

  1. On the Agents page, click the pin icon (Pin agent) at the top right of the agent's card. The agent moves to the Pinned tab.
  2. Open Chat. The agent now appears in the sidebar under Agents, above your folders. Click it to start a chat with it.

To unpin an agent, click the pin icon on its card again.

What to know about agent chats​

  • The agent's instructions, tools and Skills are already set, so you can start right away.
  • A custom agent with Remember what I ask it to remember turned on keeps what you ask it to remember in later chats with that agent. It only applies to that agent. See Create a custom agent.
  • You can save an agent chat as a task, and every run uses the same setup. You can also pick an agent under Done by → Agent when you create a task. See Save a chat as a task.
