Manage Conversations

As your chat history grows, ConsoleX helps you find and organize it. This page covers the chat sidebar, the All chats page, folders, the chat title menu, sharing, and chats that aren't saved at all.

The chat sidebar​

Click Chat in the left rail to open the chat sidebar. From top to bottom it shows:

  • New chat and All chats
  • Agents: agents you pinned (see Chat with agents)
  • FOLDERS: your folders, with + to create one
  • Your chats, grouped by date (for example TODAY)

Search all chats​

  1. Click All chats in the chat sidebar.
  2. Type in Search chats… to find a chat.

Without a search, the page lists RECENTLY ACTIVE chats as cards (title, a preview of the latest reply, the model used and the time), followed by MORE CHATS. Click the star on a card to star that chat. The page also has Manage default capabilities and New chat.

Use the chat title menu​

Open a chat and click its title at the top left. The menu has:

  • Star: mark the chat so it's easy to find again.
  • Edit title: rename the chat. New chats get a title automatically.
  • Add to folder: move the chat into one of your folders. It is available once you have created a folder.
  • Share: create a link that anyone with the link can use to view the chat.
  • Delete: delete the chat.

Organize chats in folders​

Use folders to group chats by client, project or topic. For example, Alex keeps every Brightside Bakery chat in one folder.

  1. In the chat sidebar, click + next to FOLDERS. A folder named New Folder 1 appears.
  2. Open a chat, click its title and choose Add to folder.

To manage a folder, hover over it and click the … menu next to its name.

To see which chats you have shared and stop sharing them, go to Settings → Chat Settings → Shared links and click Manage. These are "chats anyone with the link can view. Stop sharing any of them here."

Chat without saving: Anonymous Chat​

  1. On a new chat, click the Anonymous Chat icon at the top right.
  2. A banner shows "This chat will not be saved to history."
  3. To go back to normal chats, click Exit anonymous mode at the top right.

Clear all conversations​

To delete your whole chat history, go to Settings → Chat Settings → Clear all conversations and click Clear Now. Only do this if you are sure you no longer need any of your chats.

Task run chats​

Each task run has its own chat, which you open with Open chat in the task's Run history. By default these run chats don't appear in Chats. To include them, turn on Show this task's run chats in Chats on the task's Config tab: it includes "existing and future run chats in Chats, favorites and search". Turning it off keeps them reachable from Run history. See Run tasks.
